Students in our 9th and 10th grade Pathways X-Block (pictured above) created prototype helmets for an egg drop competition. Local business owners and managers consulted with students about their engineering design process as well as their strategy to win the competition. Pictured includes Mike Chechette (MassHire of Hampden County), Tony Peterson (Atlantic Fasteners), and Ed Leydon (Ben Franklin Design & Mfg). Students enjoyed this networking opportunity with these knowledgeable industry mentors.
Students in our 11th and 12th grade X-Block (pictured above) had the opportunity to showcase their interviewing skills at a recent mock interview event at West Springfield High School. Students were evaluated using a professional rubric which allowed the interviewers the opportunity to give constructive criticism to help prepare our students for their career in the high demand advanced manufacturing industry here in Western Massachusetts.
