Pathways to Prosperity

A federal grant funded program that combines academics with

manufacturing technology job preparation for our students

Welcome to the West Springfield High School

Pathways to Prosperity website

Pathways to Prosperity students enroll in a six-year industry-focused pathway that leads them from West Springfield High school to Springfield Technical Community College. Students take a directed course pathway that prepares them for the college classes in manufacturing technology. Students in the Pathways program have exclusive access to tour and meet business owners and plant managers from various local advanced manufacturing facilities which include but are not limited to; Lenox American Saw, Peerless Precision, Pratt & Whitney, Ben Franklin Design & Manufacturing, Advance Welding, and many more. While enrolled, students can take advantage of the benefit of college courses, at STCC, through dual enrollment, which will strengthen their academic foundation and better prepare them for their college studies.

All Pathways to Prosperity students must meet the Math and English Language Arts proficiency requirements for entrance into STCC Manufacturing Tech program. Pathways students have the unique opportunity to meet industry business partners, sponsors and cultivate potential employer relationships while they attend class. Field trips and on-site visits provide students with an exposure to the workplace and the required job skills.

Students can qualify for summer work experiences and all students receive employment preparation training which includes resume writing, job interview counseling and work performance assessment training. The high school-to-college focus in this program not only prepares students to graduate from STCC, it prepares them to enter the highly competitive workforce of manufacturing technology, armed with the essential skills they need to be exemplary in their work.
