Semester Course

This one-semester course focuses on the practical writing skills necessary to communicate in the 21st-century workplace. Technical writing is the type of written communication that is used when creating instructions, communications and reports, for print or electronic media. This course will take the student through elements of technical writing, which include writing letters, memos and emails; manuals; newsletters; specifications; brochures; flyers; PowerPoint presentations; graphics; job searches and resumes; and web pages. This course will expose students to work in the Microsoft Office suite of applications, which are widely used in business and industry.
