Technical Drawing I (TEN681)
Semester Course
Technical Drawing I is the foundation for all technical-drawing and solid-modeling work, and as such it is a prerequisite for Technical Drawing II. Designed to acquaint the student with the "Graphic Language of Industry," it is intended for those students who may be interested in technical careers involving design and documentation, such as drafter, architect, surveyor, engineer, interior decorator and designer. Topics covered will include using basic drafting tools; lettering; orthographic projection and the standard arrangement of views; section views; auxiliary views; selecting appropriate views; dimensioning; descriptive geometry; manufacturing and assembly drawings; drafting standards; and pictorial drawings. This class is entirely a manual-drawing course; all assignments will be done on paper, using drafting instruments, not a computer.
