Fiddler on the Roof was our 2023 production, and the 50th BUHS musical!
Mrs. Kersten directed, Mr. Rice directed the orchestra, Ms. A vocal directed, Francesca Bourgault choreographed and served as lighting mentor, and Mary Linney costumed. This year, Mr. Rose joined us as our fight choreographer.
We partnered with Brattleboro Area Jewish Community, Rabbi Amita Jarmon, and Rabbi Avrohom Raskin. The rabbis attended our info meeting in September, led Diversity Day workshops in December, hosted us at Shabbat in January, and answered countless questions in person and via email. We could not have told this story authentically without the support and resources they provided to us!
Fiddler was also bittersweet for us, because it was Mr. Rice's 35th and final musical at BUHS before he retired at the end of the school year.
We thank him for sharing his talents with us all these years, and wish him well in his next adventures!
Mrs. Kersten directed, Bob Thies directed the orchestra, Ms. A vocal directed, Francesca Bourgault choreographed and served as lighting mentor, and Mary Linney costumed.
On a small Greek island, Sophie dreams of a perfect wedding — one which includes her father giving her away. The problem? Sophie doesn’t know who he is! Sneaking a peek in her mother’s old diaries, she discovers three possible fathers: Sam, Bill, and Harry. She secretly invites all three to the wedding, convinced that she’ll know her father when she sees him. But when all three turn up, it may not be as clear as she thought!
