The performing arts at BUHS have a long history and tradition of excellence, both in performance and in taking creative risks. We strive to mimic the professional world in all we do to prepare students for what to expect in college and beyond. Many students who have graduated from our program have pursued careers in the arts, whether music, theatre, or dance.

As performing artists, we understand that art elicits emotion and thought. We strive to create performance opportunities for students to explore the depth of their own emotions in a safe space, and to hone their skills in eliciting emotions from their audiences.

As Hans Christian Andersen once said, "Where words fail, music speaks." This is true of all the arts. When we experience emotions so deep that we cannot express them in words, art is there. Music is there. Theatre is there. Dance is there. These vehicles of expression ring true to the depths of our souls as human beings. It is our honor and joy to help students bring their artistic impulses to life.
