Levels of Membership

There are three existing levels of membership, Apprentice, Journeyman, and Master.

To become initiated as an Apprentice, students must make a significant contribution to two plays at BUHS, either by performing or assissting with technical aspects of the productions. Initiation frequently occurs at the end of the first year a student participates in the theatre program at BUHS. (Musicals are not eligible, as they are productions sponsored by the music department, not the BUHS Players.)

Once students have made a significant contribution to four plays at BUHS, they are initiated as Journeymen, and as Masters if they have contributed to six plays. An asterisk appears next to students' names in the program if they are Garrick Society members. Once students are members of Garrick, they maintain membership at the level in which they were initiated, unless they meet the criteria to achieve a new level.

This year, we are introducing a new level of membership: Friends of Garrick. Friends of Garrick may join at any time during the year, and membership is not contingent upon participation in a production. Students' names appear in the program only if a contribution was made to the performance.

All members of Garrick Club are invited to attend Garrick Club meetings and participate in workshops. Members are encouraged to support BUHS theatre by performing in shows, volunteering to help with sets, costumes, lights, etc. and/or attending performances.
