What Worked:
Many things worked well for me for Flex. However the main thing that worked amazing for me is the flexibility. I truly felt I got a lot more out of this class then most classes because of this reason. Not only did I get to do things I enjoy, I also got to grow and improve as a person, a learner, and a worker. It started with reflecting on my time at BEEC. Then I went onto Tech career exploration and practicing skills like cyber security online. Finally I ended up with an amazing opportunity to apprentice in the IT department at BUHS with Caleb Clark helping teach me the ropes. It turns out I really enjoyed both working at BEEC and in a technological environment and this has really helped me realize how much I am truly capable of.
What didn't work
What could I have done to improve my Flex Experience
Something I could have done more frequently to improve my Flex experience is communicate availability more. I noticed that it worked out either way but it was much smoother for everybody involved when we where very open in communication.
What could my flex team have done to improve my Flex Experience.
My amazing Flex Team was very useful in so many ways and I am forever grateful for them. Something my Flex team could have improved on however was communication between eachother. In this case slightly more communication between Caleb and Ms. Thielen.
What did I learn about myself as a learner:
Something I learned about myself as a learner is that I work good in a variety of environments. More specifically I work better in IT and childcare then I truly thought. I had known before that I was experienced somewhat in both and that I enjoyed it but it wasn't until I was put into the work environments of both I realized how truly well I work in both.
What did I learn about myself as a person:
Something I learned about myself is that sometimes I need to slow down to explain things to people. I had learned to actively recognize that just because IT work felt natural to me the people that needed help may need me to slow down and explain what the issue/solution, etc is so they can grow themselves aswell.
