🗝️ Good instruction in dual language programs need to address the goals of bilingualism, biliteracy, and sociocultural competence; balance the needs of diverse student groups; and meet the needs of second language learners. Instruction is more complex because learning differs in bilingual students as they are able to draw on skills and knowledge from one language during instruction in the other. Thus, it is especially important to use a variety of techniques that respond to different language proficiency levels and various learning styles.
