Gr 9 Band
Primarily for students for students continuing band from middle school, the grade 9 concert band is a friendly, safe space for young musicians to develop their skills. The repertoire in the grade 9 band gradually increases in difficulty throughout the year to help students prepare for playing in the senior band. It's a great learning environment for building confidence, resilience and life-long friendships.
Senior Band
Senior Band
The senior band consists of students from grades 10 through 12 that enjoy playing their instruments and performing challenging music at a high level. The focus shifts from individual skill building to making music in a large ensemble. The repertoire consists primarily of band classics and orchestral transcriptions.
Jazz Band
Jazz Band
The jazz bands are performance based groups that focus mostly on swing, funk and popular genres. While auditions are required, there are many openings that need to be filled every September. The music is challenging, but provides a rewarding experience for the young musician.
