Verbal cue: Ugly Tongue Sound
Peachie video is for older students!
We focus on smiling and putting tongue up to start! Use the mirror first and later turn our voices on. Parents watch so you can see how this sound PROGRESSES. To start, just play in the mirror to find the "UGLY TONGUE"
Here's a nifty way to practice that tongue tip UP. Check out the video below. A little fun never hurt!
Click the setting icon and change the playback speed to 0.75 or lower
**REMEMBER to CO-SCREEN with your kids!
Practice raising your hand when you hear the target sound!
PAUSE the video to check for understanding... "What bug is the video talking about?"
Mary Had a Little Lamb
Five Little Ladybugs
The Letter L
ABC Mouse
Lollipop
Ten Little Dinosaurs

Make the "tongue", label the parts (tip and sides) and compare to your tongue. Then talk about the sleeping tongue and then for the "L" sound LIFT the tongue and CURL it up to the top! Our OT's LOVE this putty. It builds fine motor skills our littles need to be successful in kindergarten.
Check this out after 15 min. of intensive instruction. Go Weston!
Weston is just learning this sound at the time of the video. He's learning to lift his tongue and smile at the same time while saying "L" + "I" or LIE.
Dip in honey and tap behind the top teeth! Ask your kiddo to leave their mouth OPEN and "get it with their tongue!" A small Dum Dum works too!
Say the words a loud first, then have your child say the words.
