Weber School District Honor Band Concert- January 22 at Weber High! Come and support your fellow Titans who play in the District Honor Band!

Getting ready for Festivals! (Group and Solo and Ensemble.) Start thinking about what solo you want to do! 

First, band is class you can take as an elective. It's a fun choice!

More importantly, band is a group that plays musical instruments together. These are instruments like the Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophones, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, and Percussion.

What if I don't know how to play an instrument? Don't worry! Our Beginning Band is made to teach you how to play an instrument. You will be in a class with others like you who want to learn. You'll learn how to read music, and how to play your instrument. 

What if I don't know what instrument I want to play? First, find out about the different kinds of instruments that are in band. Visit our Recruitment Site! Next, try out some instruments! Come to our Petting Zoo, or contact Ms. Shinney to set up a time to try some instruments!

What if I don't own an instrument? There are two great choices for you! First, Rent from a Music Store. There are great music stores nearby that will rent brand new instruments, and have a rent to own program. Second, Renting from the school is available as well. The school's instruments are rented at small fee, but with extremely limited supplies are first come first serve. The rental fee can be applied to a fee waiver.

Is there a cost to be in band? There is a $15 music fee added to your registration fees. 

What if the instrument I want to play isn't in band? There are more music classes at Orion! Ms. Shinney also teachers the Guitar Classes for 8th and 9th graders. We have the String Orchestra which has instruments like the Violin, Viola and Cello. You can also take choir, or a piano class!

We have a guitar class here at Orion! We teach Beginning Guitar and Intermediate Guitar. It's a semester long class, so you can learn the guitar AND take band! You must be in 8th or 9th grade to play the guitar.
