Do you want to be in the band leadership? Do you want to help the Orion Band Program grow and get even more awesome? Do you like being a leader, or want a great leadership opportunity in a class at school you love?
Applications for the 2026-2027 school year have closed. Keep an eye out for applications for next year's leadership!!!
What is Band Leadership, and what will it look like?
Band Leadership are just like other groups or clubs at the school that have leadership positions. They are people who will assist in the band by doing things that might be similar to what the Student Government might do. They will run class when Ms. Shinney is gone, they will help other students as needed, they will assist Ms. Shinney, they will be a leader to other students in the band, and they will help support students in other ensembles than them. (Beginning Band!) Band Leadership is expected to be at every band event (concerts), promote positivity and unity in the band, be responsible for themselves and their committees, and more.

What can I do if I want to be a leader, but I don't make it?
That's awesome! We love having students who help the band in all kinds of ways. Jump in at anytime, ask Ms. Shinney waht you can do to help. Each member of the Band Leadership will also have a small team of 1 or 2 assistants for when they are in charge of a task. Talk to one of the Band Leadership Members and let them know if you'd like to help them out!
