"Be The Change"
Qualities of a Good Student (7 Habits for Highly Effective Teens):
Be Proactive I was in charge of myself, followed directions, and kept a “can do” attitude.
Begin With The End in Mind I set goals, planned ahead, was prepared, thought about how choices would affect my future (positive or negative) and made good choices for myself.
Put First Things First I spent my time on the things that are most important. I stayed focused, did the things I had to do before doing the things I wanted to do, or minimized distractions.
Think Win-Win I worked together with other people to solve a problem. I was kind and thought about the needs of others.
Seek First To Understand, Then Be Understood I listened to others without interrupting, raised my hand, waited my turn, didn’t blurt out, or tried to understand other people’s views or feelings.
Synergize I got along with other people, worked well in a group, used the strength of others to help me, or came up with a better solution that I could have alone.
Sharpen The Saw I balanced my time well, took care of my body and mind, or learned how to become a better person.

Wear Your Jazz Gear Friday
The Utah Jazz is having an iconic season!
February is also Black History Month and the Utah Jazz Organization has produced a 3 part series called Black History Heroes where players and coaches in the organization talk about one of their heroes and his/her influence. We will be watching one of the videos from this series on Friday during Homebase, starring current Utah Jazz player and Weber State's former player, Donovan Mitchell.
(If you don't have Jazz Gear e.g. jerseys, shirts, etc..., then you can wear Utah Jazz colors (navy blue, green, and gold) instead.)
Thanks!
For our March Madness Assembly, we are hosting a talent show here at Bell. If you have an amazing talent to show (e.g. magic tricks, dance, playing a musical instrument, juggling, telling jokes, skateboard or snowboard tricks, or something else), prepare a short video of your talent and send it to Mrs. Vega (RaVega@wsd.net) to be considered for the March Madness Talent Show Assembly.

Weber School District is proud to announce the annual Summer Camp for Extended Education (previously PAL Camp). This is a great opportunity for students to associate with other outstanding youth in an area of their strength and interest, and to spend a full week with amazing instructors. This Camp is open to all current 6th - 9th grade students on a first-come first-served basis. Registration is open, students do not need a teacher nomination to participate, and if camps are cancelled due to COVID-19, full refunds will be given.
Get more info and sign up at our website: https://sites.google.com/wsd.net/wsdsummercamp/home…
To the left, is information regarding the Pioneer Online Library & science fair. During English class, Ms. Duke lets students read on Pioneer during silent reading time. If you have a different teacher check with them to see if this is something that you can do. You CAN read on Pioneer during Homebase. At school, there is no username and password required. If you would like to use the Pioneer Online Library at home, see your English teacher or the school librarian, Mrs. Wadsworth- Smith for more information.

How do I use remediation?
Get a slip from the teacher you need to work with
During homebase, show the ticket to your homebase teacher.
Go and work with the teacher who gave you the ticket.
Come back to class and put the note in your pocket on the blue pocket chart on the back wall.
If you think that you turned in an assignment but you did not receive credit for it, there is a no-name box in the back of the classroom. Please check there to see if you have any assignments in there without a name on them.
If one of them is yours:
Put your name on it.
Turn it back in to the correct bin for your period.
To the left, is some useful internet information for students, which is also located on the back of the Class Disclosures.
In one lesson, we talked about online identities and discussed ways in which students can protect themselves online as well as the dangers associated with online profiles and unethical behaviors.
CIPA MAKEUP:
If you missed any of the CIPA Lessons, the CIPA Makeup Lessons can be found on CANVAS. Notify Ms. Duke when you have completed them.
For a Character Ed. Lesson in 2019, the students had to write one word that described their age. Here is what they came up with.
Some of the words included: Stressfull, Pimple, Adventure, Meme, Cool, Dope, Questioning, Cool, Small Meme, Old, 12, & 13
