Join and check the Student Services Senior Google Classroom regularly
Meet with your school counselor for your senior interview to discuss your post-high school goals and how to achieve them successfully
Finalize college choices while tracking application deadlines
Register for the SAT/ACT if your college or program requires it for admission
Request letters of recommendation using the brag sheet.
Complete and submit college applications using The Common App, SUNY App, or individual college/university websites.
Make sure you request your transcripts from your counselor using the Transcript Request Form.
Students are responsible for sending colleges and universities their own SAT and AP exam scores directly from their College Board account. These scores do not appear on your high school transcript and counselors cannot send them for you.
If you have taken or are taking a dual credit / college course, students are responsible for contacting the university that course is associated with to have their credits transferred to the college at which they plan to enroll in after graduation. For example, if a student takes NU Statistics, that student would need to request their transcript from Niagara University to be sent to the college they plan on attending after graduation to have those credits transferred.
Attend Open Houses and visit college campuses
Complete the FAFSA. (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
Research and complete scholarship applications (use your scholarship book and local scholarship list on your senior class Google Classroom)
Request mid-term grades from your counselor if your college requires them
Acceptance letters from colleges and financial aid award packages will be arriving for comparison
Attend accepted student days for schools you are interested in
Stay on top of your high school coursework and deadlines
May 1st Decision Day for most colleges, schools will want to know your admissions decision and expect a deposit
Complete your senior survey letting your counselor know where your final transcript should be sent
