Start Of Season Summary:
The WCI Curling season is only just getting started, but the team is already showing huge potential. In our early matchups against EDSS, PHS, BCI, WODSS, LHSS, CHCI, KCI, ECI, and GRCI, both the boys and girls squads came out strong with solid shots, tight games, and steady improvement every week. The energy on the ice has been unreal, and the teamwork is already clicking this early in the season. Huge shoutout to Mr. Savard and Ms. Kahule for leading the way and keeping the team focused. If the start is this good, the rest of the season is about to be even better.
End Of Season Summary (Boys)
The boys team showed strong improvement throughout the season. Made up mostly of new players, the team picked up the sport very quickly and got better with every match. They finished the season on a high note after winning their final two games against ECI and GRCI to finish with a record of 4 wins and 4 losses, just barely missing out on a playoff spot. With all of their players returning next year, now having some experience under their belts, the future is looking bright for boys curling here at WCI.
End Of Season Summary (Girls)
The girls team also had an impressive season. Much like the boys team, their new players quickly developed a good feel for the game. The team worked very hard throughout the year and finished as WCSSAA finalists which allowed them to represent WCI at CWOSSA. Unfortunately the team will be saying goodbye to graduating player Aurelia Neumann, who has been a very important player to this team for the past four years and her impact will be greatly missed.
