“Ode to Matilda”

She has fur

like an old timey negative.

Her face, so much of

a really adorable rat.

Nicknamed Ratface, she

doesn’t care.

She might claw our feet

and everything else

but we still love her,

nonetheless.

Her snuggles so warm,

her fur so, so soft.

She licks me like

there’s no tomorrow.

She’s the cat

I couldn’t live without.

Matilda is always there

by my side, ready to play

and ruin my work.

Her smell so abstract

I weirdly enjoy it.

We share such a bond

too strong to break.

Her tongue so rough,

but soothing just the same.

I enjoy the song of her

meows.

So smooth and full of life,

she’s loved by the whole family,

especially me.

She’s quite the

active cat. She

makes me feel

so happy inside.

I love

Matilda.

“The Swimmers”

The dolphins, the sharks, the fish, flowing throughout the water.

Seals diving in from a bridge made of pure rock.

Sea turtles shining in the aquatic light.

Sea snakes, predators, looking for food.

Coral—red, blue and yellow, green and pink.

Under the sea is where you need to be.

Swimming with sea turtles.

Swimming with dolphins.

Riding on orcas.

Catching pike on a fishing line.

Trout jumping out, brown bears to meet them.

Under the sea is where you need to be.

Hammerheads, orcas and even blue whales.

These animals can all be found under the sea.

Fish with lights and fish with fangs,

They are all under the sea.

Reefs full of brightness, populated with fish.

Under the sea is where you need to be.

Under the sea is where you need to be.

“Statue of Shakespeare”

I am Shakespeare,

the statue which towers over you.

I am full of life,

full of art.

I may not be William,

but I am his statue.

I write in the night,

stand still in the day.

I read all the time.

You can touch me,

play with me,

but I remain motionless.

I am Shakespeare.

I am his statue.

I am free.
