The Missing Crown

by Mary Podvysotska (11 years old)

One time there was a Queen. A beautiful Queen at the Ball. The Ball was colorful and beautiful. She had good manners and great taste. She was a great person. She helped everybody who needed it.

One time someone had stolen her crown. Her servants went over the whole city but couldn’t find the crown. The Queen started asking people from different countries. Finally, one person knew where it is. He was a plain worker. He found it in the ground while digging. He had no clue, how it got over there. But he saw her helper there. But he saw her helper that night walking with a crown. The worker came to the Queen. He told her about the helper and the crown he saw that night. The Queen was amazed. Also he told her that he thought her helper wanted to hide the crown from her. So that she couldn’t wear it to the ball. Also, if the crown would be stolen, she wouldn’t be Queen any more. She would be known for a lie. “You have to get the helper”, said the Queen.

The Queen helper came. He lied to the Queen. He said: “How could I hide from you, Queen? I would be killed if I did that”. She said: “You lied to me. One of the workers found you that night with my Crown. You are not my helper anymore! Take him out of the Palace! We will have a huge ball to celebrate the event”.

The Queen lived happily ever after.
