Rex

CRACK! The first dinosaur egg hatched . It was a success! I, William Jones, had created the first dinosaur.

Ten Years Later

The T-Rex was healthy and strong. It was devouring its second goat of the day. Our experts had trained this modified hybrid with great intelligence to follow commands. Today, they were going to go inside the cage and try to control it from there. Two technicians would go in. They were Noah Hood and Liam Jackson. There were soldiers lining the balcony-like platforms with lethal and non-lethals. I was talking to these men when I noticed that Tyrannosaurus was nowhere to be seen, but the technicians hadn’t noticed, so I figured that it was probably hiding behind the trees.

They went in, and when I opened my eyes, I wished I hadn’t. The two technicians had been reduced to puddles of blood and the T-Rex had escaped through the open doors. ACU* had already deployed 5 armed men with live ammunition. I already heard gunshots, so I decided to go in. I brought my trusty rifle, not sure of the dangers I could face. I started one of the jeeps and turned on the tracking system, which showed me that the T-Rex was headed for the security station, so I warned them of this. They had sent out men to engage the threat. I took a shortcut tunnel to get near the security station, though a Baryonyx had escaped and had been seen roaming the tunnels ever since. I turned on my headlights, but not in time to see it strike.

I couldn’t. Couldn’t warn William in time. But I was able to save myself, Jacob Alexander. I quickly grabbed Will’s rifle and hid under the car. As the beast stalked away, I carefully slid out from under the car and silently got into it. I quickly aimed at the Baryonyx’s head and fired a burst of live ammunition, bringing down my friend’s killer. I had killed a dinosaur. I quickly drove past the carcass, checking the map, which showed me that the T-Rex was barely at the station.

When I arrived, the T-Rex had already killed a Brachiosaurus and was heading to the rest of the herd. That was all that stood in the way between the carnivore and the security. The lab was further north, and if the asset (T-Rex) reached that location, it would be a disaster. I loaded and cocked my gun, turned on my flashlight, and headed out of the tunnel. An Allosaurus was heading toward me, so I shot it and ran.

I ran as fast as I could to the station. When I arrived, soldiers were loading their automatic rifles and shotguns. They were ready. I quickly grabbed a heavier rifle and dropped my old one. Then I walked up to the balcony. “Hey, what are you doing?”, asked a soldier. I told him that I was getting ready to repel the T-Rex.

By the time I learned how to use the new rifle, the T-Rex was almost onto us. Half of the soldiers went to engage it further up. The rest stayed closer to the station to wait for it to come closer, and I was one of them. When it finally reached our position, it was tired and injured, but it still put up a fight. The T-Rex destroyed our barricade of trucks and cars, but our steady fire brought the mighty creature down.

I fired a couple more shots to make sure it was down. Only then did I see what a beautiful animal we had slaughtered.

Scientists later discovered that the T-Rex had been using it’s amazing sense of smell to track a man named Andrew Scholl. He had come in one night and taken one of the T-Rex’s teeth. Scholl was later fired and put into jail for animal cruelty. Later on, we developed a velociraptor pack, which was a success along with an aviary full of Pteranodons. We never made any more T-Rexes to avoid another deadly disaster.

Bungalow

Once upon a time, there lived a man named Josh. He lived inside his homemade bungalow. He had just finished making his house and was adding to it. He made his door have a lock, added a fireplace with a lot of extra wood, a survival kit, a running water system, and a shower. He also added a sink and his fireplace was used as a oven. He thought it was nice and safe until a bear smelled the meat he had made last night and broke down the door. The bear ran to the stove and destroyed it and Josh had to shoot it when it chased him. He used the fur to make a jacket and the bones for knives. He made bear stew so as not to waste anything. The next day he made his door stronger and always put a chair in front of it. He also repaired the fireplace.

Two years later, Josh was living in an underground tunnel connected to his bungalow. The lower parts were filled with fresh water to drink and bathe in, and the upper area was dry to live in. Josh thought he had the perfect home. He could cook in the bungalow or outdoors on a black stone that was heated by the sun. He could swim whenever he wanted to. The water never needed to be replaced because a stream ran into it.

One day day Josh was swimming when something pulled him under. He resisted and finally swam away. He grabbed his sacred knife and put it in his pocket, but it had a hole. He thought about diving in, but before he could make up his mind, something again grabbed his leg and pulled him until he was on unfamiliar land.

Josh woke up on a big boat. The creature or thing that had pulled him was nowhere to be found. He spotted a rowboat and used his emergency knife to cut the ropes and escape.

Being in open water for four straight days isn’t the most pleasant experience. He was in great need of water to drink. He eventually just evaporated salt water to get fresh water by using his emergency kit which included saran wrap and aluminum foil. Then all of a sudden a something like a tentacle grabbed his hand…

Years later, Josh had himself an island and a pet snake. Josh swam in the water with sharks and other sea creatures, talked to animals and hunted and ate with them. He had a pool full of sharks. This island was his and the animals’, and no one could take it from him.

Josh was woken up by his own mind. He didn’t know anything. He didn’t know how to talk, write, read and didn’t know who or what he was. He looked at his flippers and brown fur…he was a seal! Suddenly a wave fell on him and pulled him in. He dove under and bounced back.

He knew the truth. He had died and had been reborn in the body of a seal. He was stuck on this beautiful island. Forever!
