On March 13, students in grades 7-10 will participate in the annual West Platte Career Day. Many different professionals will be attending to share their careers with our students. The students will learn about a typical day for each career, the training needed, and classes to take in high school. Students have the opportunity to sign up for two sessions, so they will hear from up to six different professionals about their careers.
7th graders will continue to explore careers and the world of work. 8th graders will start talking about high school and prepare to develop their ICAPS-Individual Career and Academic Plan (a 4-year plan based on their future career plans).
In March, I will be visiting the 7th grade FACS classroom after they watch the movie Cyberbully with Mrs. Lynch to complete a Signs of Suicide training and help the students identify their support systems. This will be done again 4th quarter with the next rotation of FACS students.
