Reading assessments act as an annual check-up aligned with the Massachusetts Dyslexia Guidance to identify reading challenges early. They highlight student strengths and foundational skills, like phonics and phonological awareness, while evaluating deeper comprehension in grades 3–12 to uncover specific standards needing support. This data empowers educators to deliver targeted, systematic instruction to address growth areas and continue challenging students reading on or above grade level.
Similarly, math assessments offer insight into students' numeracy skills and help teachers track progress along the continuum of math standards. Through the integration of our Renaissance Star and Aleks platforms, educators can quickly identify target areas for support, effectively address learning gaps, and provide regular opportunities for students to practice and strengthen their developing skills.
Finally, we are committed to supporting every student’s academic achievement alongside their social-emotional growth and overall well-being. To help us understand and support our students' social emotional strengths, we use the DESSA-2 (Devereux Student Strengths Assessment, 2nd Edition).
