MOOCS
MOOCS are an excellent way to demonstrate that you are developing extra-curricular knowledge relevant to your university application and the world of work.
MOOC stands for Massive Open Online Course and as the acronym suggests these are online courses that, theoretically, can have unlimited participants. They are usually developed and delivered by universities and learned organisations and contain course materials such as video lectures, set reading, and online discussion and assessment, that can lead to certification (usually for a fee). Discussion is a very important element as MOOCS rely heavily upon social media interactions between educators and the students and their focus is very much on connectivity and social learning.
