Inner Strength

Scripture

Isaiah 40:31 "but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Observation

Throughout this verse, we see consistent signs of the mental and physical strength we are blessed with when we hope in the Lord. When we think anatomically about this verse, unending strength while running seems impossible because of basic undertakings that occur within our bodies such as muscle fatigue and the production of lactic acid. Yet, due to the power that the Lord gives us when we believe and trust in him, we are able to due anything we set our minds to. Just like Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all this through him who gives me strength."

Application

There have always been times in people's lives where they feel weak either physically or mentally. By trusting in the Lord and being patient, we will find our own inner strength and may feel a peace within ourselves when going through those tough times. So, whenever you may feel feeble, lean on God and ask him to restore your strength. The answer you will receive from Him will be indescribable.

Prayer

Dear God,

Thank you for blessing us and giving us strength at times when we need it most. Help us to remember to lean on You and trust in Your plans for our lives. Give us the gift of patience as we wait for answers, help, or anything else that may be bothering us at the time. Forgive us for the times when we try to fix our problems by ourselves.

In Jesus' name,

Amen
