Welcome back everyone! This is Ms. Sparrow, your school counselor! If your last name begins with the letters A-M for grade 6 or A-La for grades 7 & 8, I am your assigned school counselor and we will be working together for all three middle school years. I understand that these times are different, and can be very confusing and cause feelings of stress and anxiety. Your mental health is very important to me, and I am here to support you in any way I can. If you are going through a tough time and need support, please do not hesitate to come see me in my office or reach out to me via email and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Deep breathing exercises (slowly breathing in through your nose & out through your mouth)
Positive affirmations (writing down positive quote, lyrics, or word(s) that made you feel good and that remind you of how loved, valued and special you are!)
Physical Activity and Exercise
Self-Care: Doing something for yourself that makes you feel good. Some examples can be mediation, a relaxing bubble bath, a healthy meal, time disconnected from technology and social media, etc.
