Role of the School Counselor
The WISD Guidance & Counseling/Social Work mission is to implement a comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling program for our students in grades Pre-K - 12 promoting student success through focus on academic achievement, prevention, and intervention activities, advocacy and social/emotional and career development to meet the needs of the students and community of WISD.

Memorial Elementary Counselor Mission Statement:
Our mission as school counselors of Memorial Elementary is to ensure ALL students feel safe and happy at school. We want students to know we are here as their advocate and friend. Most importantly we are a trusted adult students can seek for guidance, share their troubles, or celebrate their accomplishments.
Leadership and Advocacy
Memorial Counselors on campus are the leaders of Social Emotional Learning for both staff and students. Our counselors are mediators and the point of contact for academic, behavioral and emotional concerns. Students and staff alike reach out to counselors for a peaceful appraoch to conflict resolution.
