Google Classroom

• Gemini in Classroom A new tool for teachers to use AI for various classroom tasks. It can help create materials like choice boards, query-leveling texts, and rubrics.  

• AI for Read Along Adds a wealth of phonics resources, the ability to create custom books using Gemini (for EDU Plus users, like WISD), and other AI-powered literacy support. 

• Enhanced analytics Teachers can access more detailed class analytics, including student engagement, login activity, and time spent on assignments.

• Assignment standards Teachers can tag assignments with learning standards for better organization and tracking.

• Handwriting fonts and Slides templates: New handwriting fonts and refreshed Google Slides templates are available to simplify content creation. 

• AI-powered video quizzes: Google is enhancing support for generating video quizzes from YouTube videos. 

• Google Vids- Teachers can assign video projects, provide video feedback, and seamlessly incorporate video lessons within Classroom.  

Teacher tool to share link to students

• NotebookLM integration: Allows students to use NotebookLM within Classroom to generate study guides or audio summaries from provided content.

Offline:  Manipulatives, individually and with peers. 

• SAVVAS with fidelity.  Establish clear routines, procedures and processes.  This will establish the foundation to add your blended personalized instruction after BOY data collections are complete. 

• SIPPS whole group with fidelity.  Kindergarten begins whole group SIPPS using the Beginner kit.  Use your time from blended as you establish clear routines, procedures, and processes.  The goal is to deliver SIPPS instruction in 30 minutes (or less).

• Seesaw.   Seesaw is a Learning Experience Platform enhancing elementary education, engagement, and school culture while improving academic success.  A few second grade teachers are piloting Seesaw this year in preparation for a full launch with all second grade teachers during the 2026-2027 school year.
