Guidance & Counseling

At the end of the school year all of the students will be:

• provided with Guidance & Counseling lessons in the areas of Bullying, Self Regulation, Self Management, Grit, Empathy

• participated in school wide events such as Red Ribbon Week, Anti-Bullying, Kindness Week, Just Say No Week

• attended Career Day; providing them with information of different career choices 

Individual Planning

At the end of the school year:

• the counselors administered individual student sessions to all who needed it

• the counselors provided 5th grade students information of transition to middle school

• the counselors coordinated Response to Intervention plans to support students in need

Responsive Services

At the end of the school year:

• counselors made referrals for additional counseling, resources, or assistance

• counselors made home visits for those students needing support with attendance

• counselors support students in crisis by guiding them with effective coping strategies

System Support

At the end of the school year:

• attended presentations for Red Ribbon Week, Career Day

• counselors coordinated the Secret Angel reception for those students in need of holiday assistance

• counselors coordinate 504 program referrals to support students in need

• counselors consult with staff on CPS reporting protocols and procedures

• counselors collaborate with parents, professionals and community members to support student success

• the counselors provided SEL activities to staff contributing to their self care/mental health well being

Students at Cleckler-Heald Elementary were given guidance lessons to help students with essential life skills that promoted personal development and positive social interactions. Based on the Fall 2023 Panorama Survey, 63% of the students felt they had self management and grit accomplished. There was a 4% increase with both self management and grit during the Spring 2024 Panorama survey bringing it up to 67%. 

At Cleckler-Heald Elementary, throughout the year parents are invited to attend seminars in reference to Bullying, Substance Abuse, Social Anxiety, STAAR preparations, Social Media, Mental Health, Nutrition and Arts & Crafts. All these events allow the parents and staff members to collaborate together for student success.
