External Resources
Laker Parent Institute invites you to attend a series of informative presentations focused on Executive Function skills, hosted by BrainTracks, a leading organization in this field. These sessions are designed specifically for parents and caretakers of children in Kindergarten through 12th Grade and will provide valuable insights into how you can support your child's development and success both at home and in school.
During these sessions, you will learn about:
An overview of the brain, how executive functions develop over time, and the critical milestones to look for.
Practical ways to nurture emerging executive function skills in your child, which include planning, organization, and impulse control.
Effective techniques and resources that can be implemented in your daily routines to enhance your child’s executive functioning.
There will also be dedicated time at the end of each presentation for you to engage directly with BrainTracks experts during a Q7A Session.
Monthly Schedule:
For Grades K-5: The first and third Tuesday of each month from 7:00 - 8:00 PM ET
For Grades 6-12: The second and fourth Thursday of each month from 7:00 - 8:00 PM ET
These presentations are an excellent opportunity for you to deepen your understanding of executive function and connect with other parents and caretakers facing similar challenges. BrainTracks believes that together, we can create supportive environments that foster our children's growth and success.
Please note: All external resources listed here are not sponsored or presented by Windermere Preparatory School or Laker Parent Institute. This is a collection of information that we believe our WPS parents may find helpful in supporting their children in academic and personal growth.
