Visiting Campus

Please review the specific policies within each division for accessing campus, especially outside of typical drop-off & pick-up times.

All visitors must check-in at the security gate. Additionally, parents must display their campus access tag (hang-tag) while on campus. This is to better assist you for accessing the correct buildings on campus.

To protect the safety and security of our Laker community, we ask that you please arrive no earlier than 20 minutes prior to the scheduled time(s) for your child’s/children’s afternoon dismissal to allow traffic to flow smoothly. Arriving outside of your time causes delays and congestion. Please refer to your respective division's arrival/dismissal procedures below for additional clarification.

Early Dismissal students must be signed out prior to 1:30 pm on M/T/TH/F and prior to 12:30 pm on Wednesdays. Cars arriving after that time must wait for the regular dismissal time for entry.

Arrival/Dismissal Procedures

High School Procedures

If your student will be out of school for the day, arriving late, leaving early, or any combination of the three we kindly ask that you email Mrs. Eidelman in the high school offices at tracey.eidelman@windermereprep.com. A note from the doctor/dentist/orthodontist/etc will be required to excuse any late arrival or early dismissal. An absence due to illness that meets or exceeds three consecutive school days will require a doctors note clearing them for a safe return to class.

Picking up a student for an appointment: Email Mrs. Eidelman in advance with the time that you will be picking up your student. Mrs. Eidelman will call the student out of class and have them sign out in the office to be ready for you to pick them up when you arrive. All early dismissals must be completed prior to 1:30 pm on Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays and prior to 12:30 pm on Wednesdays. If you have an appointment, you must email or call Mrs. Eidelman (tracey.eidelman@windermereprep.com or call ext. 3352) and arrive before those times. We cannot manage early dismissals and car line after that time at our current student capacity.

Dropping off late/returning to school from an appointment: Parents may drop students off outside of the High School office. The student will sign in with Mrs. Eidelman at that time and provide appropriate notes/documentation for excused absences from class.

It is our expectation that the STUDENTS will follow up with their teachers for any missed work while they are out.

Any student who is feeling unwell while at school may see the nurse immediately. The nurse will then evaluate the situation and advise what would be best for that student (resting, medication, or going home). It is our expectation that students see the nurse BEFORE calling/texting home to ask to be signed out. A student leaving campus because of due to illness that has not seen the nurse first and made an honest attempt to remain in class may result in an unexcused absence from class.

While we understand that family events and life can happen, please review our list of excused absences below. If you feel that your situation may warrant an exception to these policies we urge you to communicate these with our administrative team in advance to see if an exception can be granted.

Excused Absences

After an absence, immediately upon return to school, parents must provide the school notice indicating that one of the following has occurred if they wish the absence(s) to be excused:

Forgotten Item/Lunch Drop-Off

If a student forgets something at home that will need to be dropped off at school it will be left with our security guard at the guard shack. Parents/guardians will not be able to bring it into the office to drop it off. The security officer will ensure that it is dropped at the office and your student will come and pick it up. Please make sure that the items are clearly marked with the students first and last name.

Every student has the ability to purchase lunch/food on campus using the school id and there are a variety of options available to students to meet any dietary restrictions.
