Annual technology Usage Fee Information
The Wilson County Schools Board of Education has approved a $30 annual Technology Usage Fee for all students.
Deadline: Please submit your payment or a completed waiver application within the first 30 days of school to ensure your child receives or maintains access to their device.
You can pay this fee in cash at your child’s school or online at https://wilsonnc.schoolcashonline.com/.
The annual technology usage fee funds the essential infrastructure, security, and digital platforms that all students use daily. This fee applies to everyone including students who bring their own devices (BYOD) since all students benefit from these shared services. Students who qualify for direct services from government assistance programs (SNAP, Medicaid, TANF) or have an approved Wilson County Schools fee waiver are exempt from the annual technology usage fee; however, they remain responsible for any damage fines accrued due to negligence (see Form 3225/4312/7320-F1 Student Technology Use & Digital Citizenship Agreement for School and/or Home Usage).

Chromebook Care, Damage & Repair Information
Wilson County Schools provides every student with a Chromebook to support teaching and learning. Students and families share the responsibility of caring for district-owned devices. Taking reasonable precautions helps ensure devices remain available for educational use throughout the school year.
As outlined in the Student Technology Use & Digital Citizenship Agreement and Board Policy 3225/4312/7320, district-issued Chromebooks and accessories remain the property of Wilson County Schools. Students and parents are responsible for exercising reasonable care while using district equipment.
If a Chromebook is damaged:
Report the damage immediately to your school's media coordinator, technology staff, or school administrator.
Do not attempt to repair the device yourself.
Continue using the device only if instructed by school staff.
School technology staff will inspect the Chromebook and determine the necessary repair.
If damage is determined to have resulted from a lack of reasonable precautions, repair or replacement charges may be assessed in accordance with district procedures.
If a Chromebook is lost or stolen:
Notify your school immediately.
If the device is stolen, a police report must be filed and a copy provided to school administration.
Replacement costs may apply in accordance with district procedures and Board Policy.
