We’re excited to introduce Sora, our new student digital reading platform! Sora gives students access to a huge collection of ebooks and audiobooks — at school, at home, and even over the summer.
Our district is currently piloting Sora, and we’re happy to share that starting with the 2025–2026 school year, Sora will be available for all students, district-wide!
📚 Ready to get started? Everything you need is right here!
Access Sora on Any Device!
Once parents opt in, students will find the Sora app in their MY WCS Backpack! They can log in with their school username and password—or use a QuickCard if they’re in K–2. Sora is also available at home through the app (use setup code wcsnc) or online at soraapp.com/library/wcsnc.
A printable version of the flyer is available here.

Select "Add Library" and search for NC Kids and/or NC LevelUp.
Search the library and click "Borrow or Place Hold" on any title to prompt the sign-in screen.
Select "Wilson County Schools" from the list and sign-in -- no library card needed!
Please Note:

⚠️ A Note About Public Library Access in Sora
While the Sora app does allow users to connect with public library collections using a personal library card, this feature is not available through Wilson County Schools accounts — including for students participating in the current pilot program.
This decision helps ensure that all content accessed through school accounts is curated for age appropriateness and reviewed for alignment with our district’s standards. Public library collections, while robust, may include materials that are not tailored to specific student age groups or school-level expectations.
If families wish to explore additional reading options through the public library, they may do so independently using a personal device and library card login, outside of the school-managed Sora environment.
For questions or concerns please contact Natalie Mercer, District Media & Technology Coordinator.
