We recognise that young people in secondary education strive to do well, but sometimes the pressure of both school and their personal lives and can lead to them to suffer emotionally which may affect their learning and attendance in school.
The Wellbeing Manager role is to help provide support to those students who are struggling for whatever reason. Through weekly non-judgemental one to one meetings using active listening and counselling skills to help students to unpackage their worries and concerns, and then look at creating positive strategies which will help them through their current issues.
Student can access to Wellbeing Manager through their college Student Support Teams or by a walk in service held every lunchtime. Plus parents may contact the Wellbeing manager via the school’s main contact number.

Stresses in life do not just happen in school, but also at home and in the workplace. Below is a great resource from Pricewaterhousecoopers, a multinational company which looks at way in which to solve global issues such as the Covid-19 pandemic we are all experiencing now.
This focuses on understanding stress, typical traits of resilient people, how to manage your stress, and how to develop skills such as listening, understanding, and empathy.
Don't underestimate the jump from Year 11 to Year 12. Although you are studying less subjects, the demands on your time and the amount of work you will be asked to complete throughout your qualifications will be greater! Therefore, your stress levels will differ at different times throughout the academic year depending on what is being asked of you. One thing to bear in mind though, is that no matter what stresses you are feeling, we are all here to help. The Wellbeing Planner below will give you a heads up about the stresses you can expect and when over the next two years in Post 16. This will help you to put strategies in place to help you cope with stress.
