Full Ensemble Rehearsals

Full ensemble rehearsals are taught in a large group setting using the full complement of instruments for band or orchestra. This class setting is structured to help a large group of students develop specific ensemble skills and musicianship as a whole entity. They are designed to teach students the skills necessary to perform together as an ensemble.

  • Large group instruction with balanced instrumentation
  • Development of full ensemble performance skills:
    • Section/ensemble listening skills
    • Section/ensemble tuning skills
    • Section/ensemble balance and blend
    • Section/ensemble tone production skills
    • Section/ensemble musicianship skills (How each part fits together and what role does each part play in the overall musical experience)
  • Ensemble playing time with feedback from teacher
