Join us for our webinar series highlighting wildlife health in the Midwest and urban areas!
April 30, 2026, 5:00-6:00 CST: Janetta Kelly
Janetta is a Fish and Wildlife Biologist for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, specializing in mammals and deer health. She received her Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Janetta is currently an Adjunct Instructor of Biology at Ivy Tech Biology, specializing in research, monitoring, and reporting on disease transmission among wildlife populations in Indiana. Janetta brings valuable insight working for DNR and handling complex diseases like chronic wasting disease. Come meet her!
May 5, 2026, 12:00-1:00 CST: Dr. Patt Zollner
Dr. Zollner is a Professor of Quantitative Ecology in the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources at Purdue University. He received his Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources from the School of Natural Resources at the University of Michigan, his Master of Science in Wildlife Ecology from Mississippi State University, and his PhD in Ecology from Indiana State University. Dr. Zollner conducts research on how animal movement patterns are influenced by landscape-level habitat changes, particularly those resulting from human activity. His work primarily focuses on mammalian modeling systems, including the American marten, river otter, and bats; however, he also has experience working with birds and herps. You don't want to miss his talk!
May 28, 2026, 2:00-3:00 CST: Dr. Greg Dwyer
Dr. Dwyer is a Professor in the Ecology and Evolution department at the University of Chicago. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University and received his PhD in Zoology from the University of Washington. Dr. Dwyer's research focuses on the ecology and evolution of infectious diseases, particularly how mathematical models can help us understand disease dynamics. His lab combines fieldwork and ecological modeling to understand the dynamics of disease in insect populations and to preserve forest health in the face of climate change by examining how insect diseases control insect populations. Interested in insects? Interested in modeling? Interested in fighting climate change? Dr. Dwyer is someone you want to meet!
June 9, 2026, 3:00-4:00 CST: Eli Fleace
Join us for the last webinar of our series! Eli is a Fish and Wildlife Biologist for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, specializing in avian health. Eli has extensive experience covering avian influenza across Indiana and focuses on the health of sandhill cranes in the state. Come learn from Eli about his background, his relationship with the media, and how he manages viral disease outbreaks as an expert in the Department of Natural Resources!
Bring your questions, and we hope to see you in attendance!
