2nd grade artists are exploring LINE, an element of art, and PATTERN, a principal of art!
We are learning how create a work of art while using our name and patterns that represent us. We are inspired by the artist, Bisa Butler who is a textile artist that uses bright colors and bold patterns to create portraits.

2nd grade artists are continuing to work on our October project.
After we finish, we will spend some time learning about Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama, who made pattern pumpkins. We will make a special pattern pumpkin of our own, that will be able to stand up.

Artist are learning different clay techniques to make a clay fish. We will learn how to make a pinch pot which will be the body of our fish, a coil which will be the details on our fish, and a slab which will be the fins on our fish.
