Employers & Businesses Post Job Openings for Students Here!
The Mastery Experience Work-Based Learning program is your key to getting 0.5 school credit* for your job, internship, or volunteer experience (depending on the number of work hours put in).
*An additional 0.5 credit can be earned if you are in a different experience than the original one in a following semester.
ME WBL involves students working with professionals in “real world” settings to gain an understanding of a career field and what it takes to be successful in an ever-changing world. The program consists of active collaboration between student, internship host or job supervisor, and the School-To-Careers Coordinator to create a seamless integration of school and real world learning, enabling students to build knowledge and gain skills through this experience.
Steps to enroll and get credit for the program:
First, complete the Mastery Experience Independent Study Proposal Form for Work-Based Learning.
After your proposal has been approved, you will be filling out a Participation Log every two weeks describing what you did and what you learned during that time period. Your supervisor will be filling out an Evaluation Form on your behalf on a quarterly basis.
Lastly, you will need to complete an Internship Reflection Form summarizing your experience at the end of the semester.
