Career Resources
An important part of your high school journey is taking an active role in identifying careers of interest, understanding personal aptitude, and participating in career experiences. While students today have many strengths including digital fluency and technology adaptability, they are seen as less prepared to enter the world of work than in past years. Career experiences and counseling workshops will help boost your readiness and skills for the future.
Here are some additional suggestions:
Explore career areas you might not have been interested in the past
Ask questions of how careers might connect with academic classes
Develop skills that are key to career readiness: professionalism, digital citizenship, communication, collaboration, developing a strong work ethic.
Practice these skills in real-world situations such as classroom projects, sports/club activities, a first job.
Begin to develop a personal brand that identifies who you are, your skills and aspirations.
Consider focusing your senior Capstone project on your career choice.
