East Texas Communities Foundation will offer about 87 diverse scholarships to be awarded for the 2025-2026 academic year. Students are likely eligible for several scholarships we offer. The application invitation on our website will make the process easy. By completing a short application with questions, the student will be matched with those scholarships for which they are most likely to meet the eligibility criteria. Then, they choose the scholarships they want to submit to and proceed to those applications.

The ACS Scholars Program awards renewable scholarships to underrepresented minority students majoring in undergraduate chemistry-related disciplines, and are also intending to pursue careers in chemistry-related fields. Selected recipients are awarded up to $5,000* per academic year. To date, over 3,000 students have received a funding from the ACS Scholars Program.

2025 Horatio Alger Undergraduate Scholarship
State scholarships are awarded to eligible students in all fifty states and the District of Columbia. The program specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. The scholarships are funded by Horatio Alger Members who, like the Scholars, have experienced challenges but ultimately overcame them to become successful business and civic leaders.
Requirements:
Be enrolled full time as a high school SENIOR in the United States.
Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution).
Demonstrate critical financial need ($65,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required).
Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities.
Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity.
Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0.
Be a United States citizen.

Memorial Foundation Asthma Scholarship Award
The Texas Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Society (TAAIS) Memorial Foundation is pleased to announce the 2024 TAAIS Memorial Foundation Asthma Scholarship Award. The application is available now and the deadline to apply is March 1, 2024.
This $3,000 one-time award will be granted to up to five qualified and deserving Texas high school seniors who suffer from Asthma.

The Vexus Scholarship Program is available to persons completing their high school education who desire to further their education so that they can acquire the knowledge and skills to better prepare for the future. The intent of the program is to encourage individuals to demonstrate civic responsibility and scholastic achievement.
Amount and Disbursement of Scholarship
Up to thirty one (31) $3,000 scholarships
Qualification Criteria
The recipient must be a person completing their high school education whose address at which they legally reside (by self, parent or legal guardian) must be within one of the following cities in the State of Texas: Abernathy, Burkburnett, Borger, Canyon, Colorado City, Hale Center, Iowa Park, Levelland, Littlefield, New Deal, Olton, Pampa, Shallowater, Slaton, Smyer, Whitharral, Whitehouse High School seniors and non-traditional students can apply. Non-traditional students include those students attending private, parochial, home school or have obtained their GED.
Application Requirements
The recipient must submit a current photo along with the completed scholarship application and an approximate 500-word essay stating their future plans and how this scholarship will aid in those plans. The essay should be either typed or hand printed. Two (2) letters of recommendation are required and must be from either a school administrator, current teacher or coach, or a current employer. Letters of recommendation cannot be from a relative of the applicant.

Sophomores:

These scholarships are available to sophomores in Texas and Oklahoma. Each Kiwanis
Club within these states will nominate one individual to their Divisional Lt. Governor. The
Lt. Governor will then select a single nominated individual to represent their division, and
then submit the application and essay to the Texas-Oklahoma Foundation. Out of the 37
active divisions in Texas-Oklahoma 20 nominated individuals will be awarded the
Sophomore of the Year scholarship. Notifications will come directly from the Foundation
but may be delivered by your local Kiwanis Club.

TThe KomatsuYou Scholarship is funded by Komatsu Longview Operations to attract, recruit, and retain a qualified technical workforce. Scholarships will cover tuition, fees, and books for approved programs of study with selected Educational Partners. Additionally, Komatsu will provide the required PPE for the chosen program of study. The availability of funds and the number of qualified applicants will determine the number of scholarships awarded and the amount of each scholarship. The aim is to offer at least $500 per semester for selected scholarship recipients.

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, designed to provide recipients with the opportunity to graduate college debt-free. Free workshops, Free Schwab Brokerage Accounts and Free Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum. Hagan Scholars can apply for a graduate scholarship after earning their undergraduate degree. Hagan Scholars have attended 429 colleges and universities located in 48 states.

The Texas Telephone Association Foundation (TTAF), a non-profit, philanthropic organization founded to help
further the understanding of telephony and advance telecommunications as a career choice, will award six,
four-year scholarships, in the amount of $2,000 per year to students entering college for the 2024-2025 school
year.
The Scholarship Committee will make
its selections from those applications which meet the following criteria and include the required materials:
♦ U.S. Citizen;
♦ Student graduating from a Texas high school no later than June 2024 from a school within a TTA
member company’s service area.
♦ Student achieving a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher (out of a possible 4.0);
♦ Student planning to attend a Texas college or university by the Fall of 2024
♦ A completed application postmarked no later than March 31, 2024, including a current transcript
♦ A letter of acceptance from a Texas college or university where student has been accepted.
♦ Student typed essay, consisting of between 300 - 1,000 words explaining their qualifications for the
scholarship, their future goals, and how the scholarship will assist them in achieving those goals.

Since 2015, the Smith County Area Go Texan group has given eight $5,000 scholarships each year to Smith County students. The scholarship is open to Senior students in all diciplines of study (English, Ag, Education, Medicine, etc).
Students DO NOT have to be in Ag or FFA to apply.
Applicants must meet ALL of the following requirements in order to be eligible:

In an effort to promote safe driving practices to Northeast Texas high school students and community, NET RMA is for the second year providing the Linda Thomas Safe Driving Scholarship to award ten eligible students $1,000 each for college expenses. The winners will be selected based on essays and academic and extracurricular achievements.
The application is for high school seniors who has been ACCEPTED to a 2-year or 4-year college/university or an accredited trade school and will be enrolled full-time by the Fall.

The United Heritage Charity Foundation awards college scholarship funds to high school seniors who best exemplify the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People.” The Charity Foundation recognizes it's important for students to have a well-rounded scholastic, extra-curricular, community service and character building experience throughout their high school careers. In order to preserve this legacy for future generations, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) and the Texas Wildlife Association (TWA) worked together to develop the Texas Big Game Awards (TBGA). TBGA continues to be the leader in promoting education and recognition of quality habitat and quality wildlife in Texas.
The purpose of the TBGA is to promote awareness about wildlife management and the role that hunting plays in habitat conservation, and to foster cooperation among stakeholders who ensure that our state's wildlife habitat is conserved forever.
Nine scholarships will be awarded, one per Region (eight total) and one overall top statewide. All applicants must be Agriculture and/or Natural Resource related majors.
The selection process is based on a point-scale scoring system and each application is reviewed and ranked by a statewide scoring committee. Scholarships are open to any graduating high school senior, entering college freshman, sophomore, or junior. Students do not have to participate in the TBGA to be eligible for these scholarships, but those who have entered the Texas Big Game Awards
will receive a preference point during the scoring process.
Recipients must be able to attend their Regional TBGA Banquet in order to receive their scholarship. Please check the TBGA Regional Map to determine what Region you live in and the Banquet Dates to determine where your Regional Banquet will be held next spring.
