Scholarship Amount
Recipients will receive $4,000, dispersed evenly over the Scholar’s program.
MALE Seniors:

The scholarship is designed to identify and reward outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated an ability to excel in the fields of academics, extra-curricular school activities, and community involvement. The scholarship is available to any male, graduating senior from an accredited high school who is enrolling in a four-year undergraduate college program that commences in the fall. The scholarship is awarded through the Foundation for Fraternal Excellence, a registered 501(c)3 organization. Current or future membership in a fraternity is not required. REQUIREMENTS:

The John and Rheba Myers Scholarship provides scholarship(s) of up to the full amount of tuition and fees for an academic year, with the ability to renew for a total of four years, to students with average to above-average academic performance and substantial financial need. Awards may be used to support tuition and fees at any 2-year or 4-year academic institution of higher learning in the United States. There are no limitations on area of study.
Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants must be graduating seniors in the Kaufman, Van Zandt, Wood and Smith counties of Texas, or residents of those counties who are returning to an accredited 2-year or 4-year academic institution of higher learning.
Applicants must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Applicants must have an SAT score of 1120 or higher and/or an ACT score of 21 or higher.

Sophomores:

These scholarships are available to sophomores in Texas and Oklahoma. Each Kiwanis
Club within these states will nominate one individual to their Divisional Lt. Governor. The
Lt. Governor will then select a single nominated individual to represent their division, and
then submit the application and essay to the Texas-Oklahoma Foundation. Out of the 37
active divisions in Texas-Oklahoma 20 nominated individuals will be awarded the
Sophomore of the Year scholarship. Notifications will come directly from the Foundation
but may be delivered by your local Kiwanis Club.
SENIORS:

Each year the Whitehouse Area Chamber of Commerce raises money for a scholarship through local Chamber events. Depending on funds raised this year, the Chamber typically awards two to three scholarships each year.
The following criteria must be met by the applicant in order to apply:
Must be a U.S. citizen;
Must be a senior student of Whitehouse High School;
Must have plans to pursue higher education studies in Business or a related field (Applicants must be pursuing higher education studies specifically in Business or a related field to Business to be considered for the Whitehouse Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship); and
Must complete a 400-500 word essay

The Smith County Chapter of Delta Waterfowl will award a $1,000.00 scholarship to one (1) graduating senior attending one of the qualifying schools within Smith County. The recipient will be a student who has a strong academic background and is interested in pursuing a field of study which will allow them to become a contributing member of their community both economically and socially.

Live Oak Environmental 2024-2025 High School Scholarship
Instructions/Minimum Requirements.
1.. Include a cover letter stating your reason for applying
2. Include a current copy of your high school transcripts
3. Include two signed letters of recommendation from non-relatives

5. Must have a GPA of 3.5 (out of 4) or higher

Each year, Robert Peltier awards fifty (50) individuals with the Peltier Teacher’s Scholarship Program to outstanding students across East Texas. The scholarship is available to any East Texas student that is graduating high school or currently enrolled in college as an undergraduate. Additionally, the student must have a parent that is an educator (teachers, administrators or paraprofessional). These fifty (50) scholarships will be given out annually to help families offset the cost of tuition, fees, books, room, and board. Our community is so important to us, this scholarship is our way of saying “thank you” to all the hard work our teachers put into educating our children of the future. BOBBIE F. BOWIE SCHOLARSHIP
This Scholarship requires the following:
• At least an 80 or 3.0 grade point average.
• A copy of your high school official transcript.
• A headshot (photos taken on phone are acceptable as long as they are NOT a selfie).
• Must take at least 12 hours for fall semester and 12 hours for spring semester during first year of
college.
The total amount of the scholarship is $1,000. The scholarship will be awarded in two increments equal to $500 for the fall semester and $500 for the spring semester of awardee’s first year of college.
Awardee will need to provide verification of enrollment prior to funds being disbursed each semester.

The GM2 Foundation Scholarship is a one-time $1,000 scholarship awarded to a student who shows achievement and perseverance in academics, extra-curricular activities and the community.
The only two criteria for this scholarship are 1) an East Texas high school senior with at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 point scale, and
2) the student must be attending a two-year junior college in East Texas.
**The GM2 Foundation hopes to identify a student who is well-rounded, has a desire to achieve a bachelor’s degree, and will use the GM2 Foundation Scholarship as a springboard for advancement and ultimately, paying it forward. However, there is no ‘model’ student for this scholarship.

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and The Sallie Mae Fund are proud to offer financial assistance to twenty five (25) current outstanding high school seniors who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or continuous education program. Texas college or technical school students pursuing careers in program that emphasizes radio or TV broadcasting or communications can apply for up to $29,000 in Texas Broadcast Education Foundation scholarships to be awarded.
UT-Austin and Texas Tech University students, especially, should note that the Lady Bird Johnson and Wendell Mayes, Jr. named scholarships are designated for students at those institutions.
