Parent Groups:
PFLAG Long Island is dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and their families. PFLAG Long Island has monthly virtual meetings as well as monthly in-person meetings. In-person meetings alternate between the Suffolk County meeting location (Commack, NY) and the Nassau County meeting location (East Hills, NY).
Parents of Transgender & Gender Diverse Children is a free 14-week educational support group from Stony Brook Medicine. The goals of the group are to offer educational material and support for parents, caregivers, and other adult family members of transgender, non-binary, and/or otherwise gender-diverse children. The group will offer space for free-form discussions where members can listen to each other and receive peer support.
Teen Groups:
Talking About Gender (TAG) is a virtual support group from Stony Brook Medicine for people ages 13-19. The goals of the group are to help individuals explore their gender identify without judgment, express without fear what gender means to them and society, and learn ways to deal with stress.
