What's Next?

Now that you are near the completion of this Introduction to Field Experiences, there are some next steps and items you will want to begin working on. Here is your to-do list:

• Complete your Mentor Recommendation Self Assessment: See below *This is mandatory to show that you completed this orientation*

• Submit your scores for the Basic Skills Exam to scores@wgu.edu (If you have not already done so)

• Complete your School and District Request*

• Complete your background clearance*

• Review your Field Experience page with your mentor during an upcoming near future call. Your Field Experience page outlines the timing of all PCE requirements specific to your degree program.

• Read the WGU Field Experiences Handbook

• Reread Professional Behavior Expectations During Field Experience in the Field Experiences handbook. Some students do not realize until it is too late that certain behaviors can lead immediately to failing PCE and DT. You should absolutely be familiar with this section so that you are prepared!

*These requirements can take up to 6 months to complete. We recommend you begin working on these tasks at least 6 months before you plan to begin PCE observations in the classroom.
