PRO BONO HONOR SOCIETY
In order to qualify for induction into the Wake Forest School of Law Pro Bono Honor Society, a student must log 50 hours of pro bono work in a single school year or 75 hours over multiple school years. The following students have chosen to use their legal skills to improve the lives of individuals in the community who desperately need help - truly embodying the meaning "Pro Humanitate."
SMITH ANDERSON AWARD
2021 Smith Anderson Award Winner, Darrien Jones.
The Smith Anderson Pro Bono Award for Exceptional Service is given to a Wake Forest Law student who exhibits passion, creativity and dedication to serving people in need and whose pro bono service results in a demonstrated impact or increases access to legal information. To be eligible for the award:
You must be a Pro Bono Honor Society member;
You must have 100 or more pro bono hours within 3 years or 75 hours or more within one academic year; and
That through a written nomination the recipient exhibits passion, creativity, dedication, and commitment to serving those in need. The pro bono service must have resulted in a demonstrated impact on increasing access to legal information to the underserved population.
The Triangle’s largest law firm, Smith Anderson, funded the establishment of the Smith Anderson Office of Community Outreach at Wake Forest University School of Law, which houses the Pro Bono Project and Public Interest Law Organization at the university and is located on the second floor of the law school.
