Community Resources

The Pro Bono Project does not provide direct legal help to the general public. Specifically, the Pro Bono Project does not provide direct legal advice, representation, or counsel on any person's individual legal matter or case because of State Bar regulations.

If you need help with a legal question, the American Bar Association hosts a virtual legal advice clinic for qualifying low-income individuals at their website.

Additionally, you might consider reaching out to North Carolina’s Legal Aid Offices. Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC) is committed to equal justice for all people. LANC helps children, families, individuals, and migrant workers solve problems that affect their basic needs, such as housing, safety from domestic violence or abuse, health care, subsistence income, environmental safety, and consumer loan problems. For more information, visit their website, which is available in English and Spanish.

Feel free to check out the Wake Forest Law Library, which maintains a legal resource guide for the public. The guide collects state and federal legal resources, with a focus on North Carolina cities.

The Pro Bono Project also does not make any direct lawyer referrals.

If you need a referral to a lawyer, please contact the North Carolina Lawyer Referral Service at 919-677-8574 or visit this website
