Students are encouraged to enroll in rigorous courses that challenge them to develop strong critical thinking and analytical skills. WFHS offers a variety of Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses designed to prepare students for success in college and future career paths.
Parents and students should carefully consider placement in Honors and AP courses. A transcript that reflects the successful completion of advanced-level coursework strengthens a student’s college application and demonstrates academic commitment.
Teacher recommendation is required for enrollment in Honors and AP courses. In addition, students may be expected to maintain a minimum overall average of 85 to remain in these courses.
Please Note:
Report cards and transcripts indicate actual grades, NOT weighted grades, as recommended by college admissions offices. Report card grades will not exceed 100.
Grades will be weighted to show relative difficulty of different course levels solely to determine rank in class.
To accurately reflect the difficulty of different course levels, courses are weighted as follows:
Course Level
Advanced Placement (AP)
Honors/AP Prep/Pre-AP
