PLEASE NOTE: SENIORS receive first priority.
The goal of this twenty-week course is designed to meet the New York State graduation requirement and provide health knowledge and skills to promote health- enhancing behaviors in order to reduce health risks. The curriculum addresses health issues facing society today. Mental Health, Drugs; Alcohol and Tobacco Prevention Education, Community Health, Family Life Education, and Disease and Disorders are focused on specifically.
Introduction to Medicine
Half Year - 1/2 Credit
Grades 10-12 (Course #18018)
Prerequisite: Health Education
This course will begin with offering students National Certification in First Aid, CPR and use of the AED. The course will then progress to an introduction in Gross Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise Science and end with introduction to the Medical Professions. Students in this program may qualify for college credit.
