The diploma requirements outlined below represent the minimum standards for graduation. Students are strongly encouraged to pursue the most rigorous academic program available to them in order to maximize their intellectual growth and develop their skills to the fullest potential.
School policy requires that full-time students enroll in a minimum of 5½ course credits per school year.
A 12th-grade student whose remaining required courses for graduation are included in their senior-year schedule is considered a graduating senior.
A 12th-grade student, who has fallen behind in credits and will need to continue attending high school beyond the current school year to meet graduation requirements will be designated as a “12 NP” student. Please Note: 12NP students are not eligible for senior privileges.
It is strongly recommended that students make up any required courses failed during the regular school year through summer school to remain on track for on-time graduation with their class.
To participate in the graduation ceremony in June, students must have successfully completed ALL graduation requirements prior to graduation day.
Class rank is determined in the fall of senior year, based on all high school credit-bearing courses completed through Grade 11. All courses are included for ranking purposes, except those specifically excluded by Board of Education Policy.
Selection of the Valedictorian and Salutatorian is conducted in accordance with Board of Education Policy.
