I'm now Twitter pals with the Rt. Hon. Lord Knight of Weymouth (@jimpknight) our former Member of Parliament, a Vice President of the Local Government Association and the Shadow Spokesperson in the House of Lords for the Environment, Food and Rural affairs.
Above is a screenshot of our Twitter conversation so you can see that I'm telling the truth about Jim's support of our campaign to improve our local environment and build something amazing for the people and businesses of Weymouth on the Pavilion peninsula.
I Tweeted Jim the link to this site and asked him if he could support us. He looked at our campaign and wrote,
"For some time I've thought that site needs an iconic piece of design.
Good luck - I hope you pull it off!"
Thanks Jim, if you're free on 25th November at 2.30pm come along to have that discussion with the council, you will be most welcome :-)
Part of our vision for the development is to include an area for on and offline informal social learning. This is a growing, inexpensive and hugely effective area of education. It is also a great way to re-train people who love the internet and socialising but hate sitting in classrooms. I'm sure Jim would second that as he is closely associated with championing the integration of technology into our education system.
