LATEST NEWS 26th Nov 2013:
SUCCESS!
We met the council on Monday 25th November and they have agreed to a charrette for the peninsula.
They have also extended our involvement to the rest of the town centre by asking us to help with the town centre master plan in March next year.
This could include more charrettes and other forms of community engagement.
So, Weymouth, this is your opportunity to re-design your town for the 21st century!
We have started putting together a team of committed volunteers (people are coming to us!) who will be creating fun opportunities for everyone to get their ideas for the town's regeneration and development out into the open for serious consideration.
Thanks for all of your support. This is just the beginning!

Look at the image at the very top of the page. Imagine building something truly spectacular there?
Can you see a sleek iconic building between the harbour and the beach with a theatre, arts and conference centre, outdoor concert and market arena, kids playground, underground parking, five star hotel spa, business incubator and social learning hub all smoothly integrated with a new ferry terminal, shops and the Sea Life Tower? I can. My name is Jason and I am a mere local resident of Weymouth.
I took the photo in March 2013 whilst the harbour wall was being repaired and the ferry hadn't yet returned to the town. There have been some slight cosmetic improvements since then but the fact remains that it is still an ugly mess that is woefully under utilised by and for the people and businesses of Weymouth.
We all know Weymouth is in dire need of investment and regeneration and there's been a lot of talk about local plans and an Olympic legacy over the last few years but the best solution has been sitting right in front of us.
The Pavilion peninsula is council owned land and it holds the key to the transformation of Weymouth. Now is the time to tell the council that we have a plan for them to implement on our behalf.
This is not a pipe dream. It can be done.
Please look at the plan and read what some of your local leaders think of it.
Campaign with us to make Weymouth an even more amazing place for the 21st century.
If you do call or email the local media please give them this link to this website,
which will help us track clicks and is easy to remember. Please share it on social media a few times and via email with your friends and colleagues. Email is still the most effective way to get friends to take action.
