This can look different for everyone. A lot of successful self-care strategies involve a sensory component (seven senses: touch, taste, sight, sound, smell, vestibular (movement) and proprioceptive (comforting pressure).
Touch - A soft blanket or stuffed animal, your favorite pajamas, putty
Taste - Hot chocolate, your favorite tea
Sight - Photos of vacations/happy memories, watch a live Aquarium web cam
Sound - Listen to comforting music, soothing sounds, soothing music, use headphones
Smell - Lavender or eucalyptus oil
Vestibular (movement) - Rocking chair, porch swing, dancing, yoga
Proprioceptive (comforting pressure) - Weighted blanket (can be replicated by layering multiple blankets), hugs
