Physical Education Teacher
I attended Gonzaga University where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and played four years of college basketball. GO ZAGS! After college, I went on to play professional basketball in Holland, Switzerland, Finland, Puerto Rico and I also tried out for the Los Angeles Sparks. After my basketball career I attended Cal State Long Beach to get my Teaching Credential in Physical Education. I have been a PE teacher for 16 years now and this is my eighth year at Westerly School. I also recently finished my Master's Degree in Kinesiology from Fresno Pacific University.
On a personal note, I love basketball, but like to play and watch all sports. I also enjoy hiking, riding my bike on the beach, swimming, shopping, and binge watching TV shows. I am looking forward to a great year of physical activity!
6th grade students ended the Cooperation Unit by working in groups to create either an obstacle course or a scavenger hunt for the class. Students used their creativity and teamwork abilities to create some amazing courses and hunts!
7th and 8th grade students ended their Cooperation Unit by working in groups to create a new game for the class to play. Students were innovative and thoughtful about the games they created! Some games combined activities we already do in PE and some games were completely new. Check out the video below to see some of the games students created.
Reminders: Bring a water bottle and your PE folder everyday!

Middle school students developed class charters by selecting how they want to feel and act during PE. They then created an acronym using those feeling and action words. These acronyms will serve as our class guidelines and expectations.
